The word is out - and so are the reviews - that are the Brum band to check out this spring. Barely half a dozen gigs into their career and the national and local press are sniffing around and trying to figure out where the band fit into the greater scheme of things. Can they really be as good as the reviews suggest?

It's difficult to judge how well the band are received tonight because they manage to play the entire set as without so much as a single pause between songs! A very good trick I think to myself, so that the audience response is limited to one slot at the end. I've got you sussed . Well, no I haven't really. The first couple of songs swing very nicely, thank you, the band obviously enjoying themselves in this rock bastion of all things traditional. But this isn't really where belong with their wordy soundscapes, sly hooks and seductive grooves. The vocals are lost in the mix, the guitars are almost too loud and the band are unperturbed. So just what does matter then fellas?

Having a good time is obviously all-important - they all look very happy in their endeavours.
