So you are a rock group, MDR?

You play with the loud electrical guitars, yes? And the big thumping beat? Am I right?

Who made that claim? Okay, yes, but MDR are other things as well. Like recently, it's true. MDR have wilfully and perversely been other things besides that. Electric guitar, bass and hand drums, for example. Who else dares to play like that? Does it matter at all? Not to MDR, that's true, but some other interested parties it may just be enough to bother them for a moment or two. The sound is sparse and maybe even intriguing, the songs heavier and lighter, the interplay is tighter. The musicians are caught unaware and smile amongst themselves.

MDR revert to the tried and trusted acoustic guitar and double bass outfit and further impress. Very nice, boys, very sweet. Hello, Stratford! Hello, Leicester! Hello, Birmingham! The group are stripped down to their winter travelling clothes and a very small amount of musical equipment - reassuringly compact. The repertoire is slimmed down because a host of new tunes may well require a bigger band, a bigger sound to make them work as they should. The skeletons of the songs are not yet available for public consumption but they are nearly, nearly ready.
